Dr. Wischmann is scientific consultant at VDI/VDE Innovation und Technik GmbH, Berlin, Germany since 2013.

His main activities are Coordinator of the subject area “Work – Technology – Innovation”; project manager for cross-sectoral studies in the area of robotics, industrial innovation and work organization; reviewer in the application process for federal R&D funding from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF); reviewer in the application process for start-up funding (public and private investments), due diligence analysis; project manager for accompanying scientific research of the R&D programs “Smart Service World”, “Autonomics for Industry 4.0” and “Digital technologies for the economy – PAiCE” of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi)

He served as Senior Researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) & Université de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland since 2008 until 2012

He has carried out Research on robotics, distributed systems, evolutionary biology and ecology; Administration and acquisition of national and international research projects; Project management; Teaching (laboratory classes, seminars, lectures); Supervision of student research assistants, M.Sc. and PhD students

He holds Ph.D (with honours) from University of Bonn and University of Göttingen (2007) and received M.Sc degree in biology (with honours) at Saarland University (2003).
